Kentucky State Trooper Hayden Phillips was shot and killed while doing the job he had dreamed of doing—leaving behind a wife and three children who expected their husband and dad to come home.

Trooper Phillips was killed while patrolling Interstate 65 in Warren County. He was assigned to Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green and had served as a Kentucky State Trooper since 2023.

Before earning that badge, Hayden served with the Glasgow Police Department and graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Training.

Those who knew him said becoming a Kentucky State Trooper was what Hayden had always wanted. But the uniform was only one part of who he was.

He was a husband. A father. A son. A friend. And a man who dedicated himself to serving others.

This tragedy hits especially close to home for all of us at GotUr6.org. We know Hayden’s wife, and this happened right down the road from our own community. This isn’t just another story we are sharing—it is a loss being felt by people we know and a family we care about.

The suspect authorities say was responsible has since been apprehended.
